Jerry Cohen Longtime resident of Livermore and Walnut Creek CA. Jerry, passed away on December 24, 2013. Born on October 5th, 1928 in Detroit Michigan, Jerry grew up in the Detroit area where he lived with his father Harry and mother Rose. Jerry went to high school at Cass Tech, he attended college at the University of Michigan majoring in chemistry, and he served in the United State Air Force with a rank of Captain at the time he completed his service. He later received a master's degree in Public Heath of the University of Michigan. He married Patricia Tully from Minnesota in 1956, and in 1961 he moved his family to Livermore CA and began a 20 year career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he worked as a Program Manager for a number of waste management and hazard assessment projects. In 1981, Jerry left the lab and began a 20 year career with Science Applications International Corporation where is worked as a Senior Scientist in the Energy and Environmental Evaluation Division. In 2001 he retired and moved to Walnut Creek. Jerry enjoyed traveling, the theater, playing tennis, and he supported a number of causes that were of interest to him. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, and siblings Sylvia, Albert and Lou, He is survived by a daughter Robin Baldini (Fred Baldini) and a son, Steven. His 5 grandchildren, Shelley Danner (Travis Danner), Daniel Baldini, Alan Cohen, Evan Cohen, and Amy Baldini brought him great joy. The family held a private celebration of his life, and will dearly miss him.
