Jonny Behdjet of Clayton, CA, centered his life around his family – devoting himself for over 52 years to his wife, Mariana; children Theresa and Andrei (Lorie), grandchildren Alexa and Zoe, and brother Giacco. Jonny's early life is a lesson in world history starting with his childhood in communist Romania during WWII to his escape to Israel to immigrating to the US to serving in the Army during the Korean conflict. Utilizing the GI Bill, he trained in electronics and began a career in international sales and representation, ultimately starting his own consultancy. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, Jonny visited over 50 countries, often with his family along, especially enjoying extensive trips with his wife. But Jonny's greatest joy was providing a beautiful and relaxing oasis for his family and friends in his backyard at the foot of Mt Diablo—his "Swiss Alps"—where he prepared wonderful meals using his grill or smoker and home-grown items from his garden. Decent and kind, he connected with people all over the world, but especially in Clayton. He was active in the Clayton Bocce League, Oktoberfest and Wine Festival and had a special place in his heart for his neighbors on Petar Court. An all-around charming and wonderful man, he will be truly missed.
