Resident of Alamo
Captain Timothy John Perry of Alamo passed away on Sunday, May 4. Born October 14, 1929, one of ten children, he grew up in the small town of Rumford, Maine. Post high school, he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Maine Maritime Academy. A Merchant Marine and Naval Pilot, he served the United States in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Following his twenty-five years of military service, Tim was a successful businessman who focused on environmentally friendly manufacturing. A devoted patriot, staunch conservative and devout Catholic, Tim believed in moderation as the key to a successful life. He was a talented musician who sang at every opportunity, and he toured with the East Bay Banjo Club as far as the Czech Republic.
Tim was a man of great moral character; he possessed a strong work ethic and innovative spirit. He is survived by his five children and three grandchildren, all of whom embody those admirable traits.
A service in honor of Captain Perry will be held on Friday, May 9 at Saint Mary's Church in Walnut Creek at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to Prostate Cancer research or the Republican Party.
