William D. Baker, 74, of Willis TX departed from this world on Easter Sunday, March 31st, 2013. Bill was born in Louisburg Kansas on Feb. 11, 1939 to Maxine and Victor. Bill grew up in Osawatomie, Kansas. He was an Air force Veteran. He retired from the City of Houston after 24 years of service as section chief in charge of the City of Houston electricians. He had originally served an electrical apprenticeship with the Missouri Pacific Railroad, and then worked in construction for a few years before going to work for the City. He worked as Electrical Supervisor at Bush Airport and then transferred down town to Section Chief. He was a member of the local 716 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Bill had been an accomplished hunter and had owned and operated an Archery Shop for numerous years in Porter, TX before moving to Willis TX. At this time he continued teaching his grandchildren about hunting but he himself took a sabbatical and took up golf! Bill had a natural talent at everything he pursued. His grandchildren and children learned many great lessons in life from him and he will be greatly missed.

Bill was survived by his wife of 55 years Nancy Jo; daughters Rhonda and husband Tony Tobias, Becky and husband John Crackel, Robin and husband John Buller. Grandchildren Tony, Travis, Tristen, and Tasha Tobias, Jacob and Jeremy Adrian, and Jordan Crackel. Great Grandaughter Kylee Jo Tobias.

Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Thomson, Willis, TX 77338 at 10:00 a.m.
