FARLEY, George J.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, George, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years on January 19, 2014 at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
George is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Therese; children, Lorraine (Paul) Wilson, Parksville, B.C., Dennis (Jill), Nanaimo, B.C., Marilyn (Barry) Kanobel and Bernard, Brookville, PA; granddaughters, Christina (Dave) Collin, Cochrane, AB, Catherine (Wayne) McKinley; great-grandchildren, Julia and Dominick Collin, Rylee and Benjamin McKinley; sister Ida Prefontaine (Ray LaJeunesse), Qualicum Beach, B.C.; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. George was predeceased by his four brothers.
George is a Veteran of WWII and worked as a welder with Atco Gas for 40 years. On his retirement George and Therese spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona and enjoyed their travels to many parts of the world. George enjoyed life to the fullest with a sparkle in his eyes, laughter and love in his heart. All of us who knew him were blessed to have been part of his life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Annunciation Church on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., 9420 - 163 Street. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 12:30 p.m., 14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton.
