FERRIER, Keith

When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, remember the love that we all shared, miss me - but let me go.
Keith Ferrier was born in Perth, Ontario. He passed away April 5, 2014 at the Hospice at St. Joseph's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
While attending high school, he was active in the 4H Club and Army Cadets. When he completed high school, he helped his father on the farm. In 1948, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy. He served on several different ships. He served in the Korean War on the Huron. He received his discharge in 1953 and settled in Edmonton. He was a member of Strathcona Presbyterian Church, former member of Allendale Community League. Korean Vets Association #21 since 1988. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion since 1961, he volunteered on the RCL and district Mass Color Party for 16 years. He was a member of Kingsway Legion #175 and served on their Color Party. He bowled with the Bonnie Doon Alberta 75 Seniors for 14 years.
When Keith retired, he enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, playing cards and travelling.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Margaret, two sisters, Dorthea Tysick of Perth, Ontario, Helen (Len) Stead of Lanark, Ontario, One brother, Art (Joan) of Perth, Ontario, One brother-in-law Bill Edge of Edmonton. A step daughter Carole Page. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Loise and Mervin Ferrier. His first wife Lillian, sister Jean Ferrier, brother-in-law Jack Tysick.
In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted by the Cross Cancer Clinic, 1160 University Avenue, T6G 1Z2 or the charity of your choice. Keith has been cremated to honor Keith's wishes. There will be no funeral or memorial service.
