Charles (Chuck) Cooper passed away on 11-09-2012 at the age of 70. He was a longtime resident of El Paso. He served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He later worked for NASA in Houston during the Gemini and Apollo programs. After leaving NASA he worked as a Communications Tech. in Thailand and Iran for the U. S Government. Chuck retired from SBC/ATT where he was a proud member of CWA Local 6733. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Susana O. Cooper; Daughters Kelli (Oscar)Gutierrez, Susanna and Jacqueline Ramos. Lori and Nikki Cooper. Grandsons Oscar , Shaun Gutierrez ,Nicolas Carrillo, Derek Ramos. Granddaughter Kayla Gutierrez and Great-Granddaughter Madalien Gutierrez. Chuck is also survived by Mother Charlene Barnhorst , Sister Susan Daniel, Brothers Don Cooper, Skip Cooper and Tony Axtell. After retiring from SBC he enjoyed many hobbies including being an artist and an amateur chef. He took a great deal of pleasure and pride in his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on 11-15-2012 at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N. Zaragoza. Military Honors at Ft. Bliss 11-16-2012 at 10:30 a.m. His family members will serve as pall bearers. Interment will be at the Ft. Bayard National Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Z. Abedin and Dr. M. Abedin. He has requested that instead of flowers a donation be made in his name to the Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program (Internet Email: www.anelder.org)or Hospice of El Paso.
