W. Hallum Carolyn was born on August 31, 1926 and departed on October 20, 2013. She attended the University of Texas in Austin where she studied Special Education. She married Dr. B. A. Hallum and had three children in Brady, Texas. The family lived in Galveston for a short time before settling in their El Paso home where she lived for almost 50 years. She was an involved mother, community volunteer and accomplished cook. She served on the Boards of the YWCA and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, putting in many hours to benefit the community. She took up the game of golf, and quickly became accomplished at it. She was a member of Western Hills Methodist Church, Coronado Country Club and El Paso Country Club. She and B.A. loved to travel and took many interesting trips over the years. She was an avid fan and enjoyed watching the NFL and the PGA. The family would like to thank dear friends Carol Crandall, Barbara Kusserow and Yolanda Ortega for their kind support during recent months. The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to The or the Western Hills United Methodist Church. She is survived by Charmaine Lawrence and her husband Dan of Placitas, New Mexico, Shelley Hallum of Fort Worth, Texas and Stewart Hallum and his wife Sandy of Dallas, Texas, two granddaughters and two grandsons, and Housekeeper Rosario Chayo Cervantes. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 23rd at Western Hills United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm.
