AGUILAR Elsa Yocavel passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the age of 32. She was born in El Paso, Texas on December 31st, 1979. She graduated from high school in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, attended Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey and graduated from the University of Texas of El Paso in May 2006. While still enrolled at UTEP, she worked as a freelance interpreter for immigration courts in El Paso. After becoming a certified federal court interpreter, Elsa worked for the United States District Court in Laredo, Texas and returned to El Paso in November 2011 to work for the El Paso Division of the United States District Court until the time of her death. Left to cherish Elsa's memory are her parents Jose Alfredo and Maria del Refugio, her sisters Sarah and Irais, her maternal grandmother, Guadalupe, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her two beloved cats, Spec and Equis. Though Elsa's life was brief, it was lived to the fullest extent and she touched the lives of many people with her kindness, sense of humor and warmth. The family wishes to thank the staff at East El Paso Physicians Medical Center, especially Stephen and Alfonso, for their care during Elsa's brief hospital stay.
