Obituary Condolences

Ethel Robbins Schwartz, life-long resident of El Paso passed away December 5. She was the daughter of pioneer El Pasoans, Sam and Helen Bellman. After attending El Paso High School and Northwestern University, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1934 from SMU and a Master of Science in 1953 from UTEP. She served as president of Mesita P.T.A., El Paso High School P.T.A., El Paso Section of National Council of Jewish Women, and Women's Auxiliary of UTEP. She was a life member of the above organizations and of Congregation B'nai Zion. She was a teacher at El Paso High School, having taught earlier at Rusk and Alta Vista schools. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Dr. J.B. Robbins, and in 1978 by Emanual Schwartz. Her sisters, Dorothy Galinn and Anna Lee Dreyer also preceded her in death. Survivors are her son, Dr. Louis Robbins and his wife, Marie of El Paso and her daughter, Dr. Sandra Harris of Scottsdale, Arizona; five grand-daughters; Dr. Diane H. Cline and her husband Dr. Eric H. Cline of Chevy Chase, Maryland, Elaine R. Harris and her husband, Steven R. Harris of Visalia, California, Janet Harris of Eugene. Oregon, Lee Ann Robbins of Santa Monica, California and Rachel R. Edwards and her husband, John Edwards of Los Angeles; great-grand-children; Emily Carlip, Holly Carlip, Hannah Cline, Joshua Cline, Max Clary, Ben Harris, Jake Edwards and Matt Edwards, also loving nieces and nephews. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at B'nai Zion Cemetery, 3911 Gateway West with Rabbi Stephen Leon officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Congregation B'nai Zion, 805 Cherry Hill, El Paso, TX 79912 or to El Paso Section National Council of Jewish Women.
