Obituary Condolences Flowers

Irma Estela Calderon (06/20/1948 - 06/18/2014). Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend died fighting ALS/ Lou Gherig's disease. Born in El Paso, Texas, Irma was a lifelong resident and respected educator. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and the University of Texas at El Paso. Irma was passionate about her faith, family and her teaching. As an elementary teacher for 35 years she reached and touched the lives of countless students. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Angelina Garza. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jimmy L. Calderon; son and daughter-in-law, JJ and Cynthia Calderon; step-daughters Barbara Calderon and Beverly Quintana; brother Richard Garza and sisters Yolanda Silva, Maria-Elena Perez and Norma Rodriguez; grandchildren Everett Quintana, Loryn, Nathan and Breann Calderon; great grandson Eli Quintana; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. We love you and will miss you always. Visitation is Sunday, June 22nd from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East. Funeral mass will be Monday, June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1700 George Dieter Dr. El Paso, TX 79936, with a celebration of life immediately following.
