Obituary Condolences

Lois Charles Yeary passed away peacefully on October 11 2013, in El Paso, Texas, just two months after her eighty-eighth birthday. She was born in Rochester, Texas to Sol and Lora Hook, and she remained a self-described 'farm-girl' throughout her life. The beautiful gardens she created wherever she lived and her practical, intense approach to life is evidence of that. Thirty years of her life were dedicated to teaching special needs-children. She had a bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian College and a Master's in Psychology from Texas Western University now known as University of Texas at El Paso. In addition to teaching and learning, she made sure to travel the world, and was able to visit Russia, China, Switzerland, Germany, Central America and other exotic places. Lois was the last of five siblings and she left behind one son, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members, and many friends and admirers. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. A small graveside service with family was held for her in Rochester, Texas on October 19, as she wished, and she is buried with her husband H.E. Charles. A memorial service was also held for her at her El Paso church, the Westside Church of Christ, 100 Crestmont Drive, El Paso, TX 79912, (915) 584-9475. Flowers can be sent there for her.
