Alden C. Hall, Jr., 64, of North Kingsville, Ohio, died Wednesday evening, July 16, 2014, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula, Ohio. He was born September 30, 1949, in Jeniva, Pa., and was the son of Alden C. and Elma Lou (White) Hall, Sr.

Alden served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and was a lifetime member of the West Springfield V.F.W. Post #4965, and was also a member of the American Legion Cowle Post #151, the Polish National Alliance, and a former member of the Conneaut Elks Club. He retired in 2010 from Weyerhaeuser, where he was a jet mechanic, and formerly owned the Hideaway in Conneaut, Ohio. He enjoyed gardening and was proud of his vineyard. He was a grape farmer for many years, and enjoyed making wine to give to his family and friends. He loved being with, and playing pool with, his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Cathy J. (Tapola) Hall; his daughter Brenda Hall of Mayville, N.Y.; his son Brett Hall of Albion, Pa.; two stepdaughters Reta Joan Voshburg and Jean Thomas; five brothers, Daryl Hall and Mike Hall, both of East Springfield, Pa., Carl (Bonnie) Hall of Chicago, Ill., John (Brenda) Hall of East Springfield, Pa., and Denton Hall of Pleasantville, Pa.; two granddaughters Olivia Hall and Nicole Hall; two step-grandchildren Amber Asmus and Josh Asmus; and a step-great-grandson Apollo Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial wake will be held at V.F.W. 13755 Chestnut St., West Springfield, Pa., from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, July 20, 2014.

Envelopes will be available at the V.F.W. or at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, which has charge of arrangements.
