Andrew Mishik Obituary

Andrew Mishik, age 84, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at St. Mary's Home East. He was born in Nemacolin, Pa., on October 13, 1929, son of the late Andrew and Anne Mishik, Sr.

Andy first worked at Dias Spring Service and then Hammermill/ IP for 26 years, until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the American Legion, Carl Neff Post # 571. Andy was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting, and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and his dog, Max.

Andy was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Anne Mishik; a daughter, Rosemarie; a son, Andrew; a granddaughter, Melissa; and a brother, Stephen Mishik.

He is survived by one son, Michael Mishik (Karen); three daughters, Linda Edwards (David), Michelle Dougan (James), Marjorie Mishik; sister-in-law, Joan Berchu; fourteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Monday at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Doug Johnson. A full military service will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, conducted by the American Legion Carl Neff Post # 571.
