Audrey Welther Twiss, age 87, of Erie, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born November 11, 1926, in Erie, the daughter of the late Frederick and Pearl Gemler Welther.

Audrey was a graduate of Mercyhurst College and went on to pursue her Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She returned to Erie and became a math teacher at Academy High School. She later became a Realtor, and for many years was associated with Jane Theuerkauf Real Estate. She was an avid golfer, past member of the Kahkwa Club and was also a Master Bridge player. Audrey was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and belonged to the St. Vincent Health Center Board of Corporators. She also was a past president of Erie Infant Homes Auxiliary.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Twiss, who died in 1977.

Audrey is the mother of Barbara Loeslein and her husband Dale of Wilmington, Del.; Anne Dolan and her husband Patrick of St. Louis, Mo. and Susan Costin and her husband Gui of Bryn Mawr, Pa. She is the beloved grandmother of Michael Dolan, Anne Loeslein, Sean Dolan, Matthew Loeslein, Tim Dolan, Mac Costin, Cate Costin, and Will Costin.

Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th and Liberty St., Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m., in St. Peter Cathedral. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Audrey Twiss Fund at either Mercyhurst University, Office of Advancement, 501 E. 38th St., Erie, PA 16546 or to the St. Vincent Foundation, 232 W. 25th St., Erie, PA 16544.
