Charles R. Harrington, age 62, of Albion, Pa., died Friday, November 23, 2012 at his home. Charles was born in Erie, Pa. on October 6, 1951, a son to Chester and Myrtle L. (Carman) Harrington, Jr. After high school, Charles graduated from the American Television Electronics School (now known as EIT) and went to work as an Electronic Technician at Mosler Alarm Systems. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then returned home and became the rural mail carrier for the Albion Post Office. He was a member of the Rural Mail Carriers Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid gardener and bee keeper. Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Annie E. Harrington and Jess and Grace Carman. Besides his parents, Chester and Myrtle, Charles is survived by a brother and his wife, J. Arthur and Helen Harrington of Albion, a niece, Carrie and Richard Warner of Conneaut, Ohio, a nephew, J. Aaron and Lacey Harrington of Albion, Pa. He is also survived by six great-nieces and great-nephews. There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home in East Springfield, Pa. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made in memory of Charles to either the Springfield Volunteer Fire Dept., Main Street, East Springfield, PA 16411 or to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 1001 State Street, Erie, Pa.
