Chester S. "Chet" Harrington Jr., age 94, of Albion, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Erie Veterans' Affairs Medical Center. He was the son of the late Chester S. and Annie (Lindstrom) Harrington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Charles Harrington, a sister Hazel Vaught, and a brother George L. Harrington.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Myrtle (Carman) Harrington, a son, J. Arthur Harrington and his wife, Helen, sisters, Elizabeth Hughes of Meadville, Pa. and Mary Anne Smith and her husband, Frank, of Waynesboro, Pa. He is also survived by a grandson, J. Aaron Harrington and his wife, Lacey, and a granddaughter, Carrie Warner and her husband, Rick, seven great-grandchildren, plus nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Chester served for three years during World War II
, as a paratrooper medic, with the 505 Airborne. He was also a rural mail carrier for many years. Chester was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion Post 567, Disabled American Veterans, life member of the Purple Heart
, and the Mail Carriers Association.
