Donald E. Chase, 79, of Fairview, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

Donald was born on August 25, 1934, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Paul and Edith (Craker) Chase.

After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from the military, Donald attended Kent State, before transferring to Gannon College (now Gannon University), where he graduated with an accounting degree. Donald started Chase Accounting Services in Lake City, at his home, during the late 1970s. In 1999, he relocated his office to Fairview, until he retired in 2009.

Donald was a member of the Fairview Legion Post # 742.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy Chase Jacobs; and by his brothers, Alston Chase and Paul Chase.

He is survived by his wife, Nadine M. (Rossbacher) Chase, whom he married in Corry, Pa. in 1957; his daughter, Robin Whitmeyer of Columbus, Ohio; his son, Dirk Chase of Girard; his brother, Richard Chase and his wife, Shirley of Corry; and his grandchildren, Katie Bohn, Brian Jacobs, Jessica White, Tara Chase, Zoey Whitmeyer and Max Whitmeyer.

Memorials may be made to the of Greater PA, 1128 State St., Suite 301, Erie,PA 16501.

The family will be having a private graveside service. Arrangements are being handled by the Edder Funeral Home, Inc. in Girard.
