Dorothy A. Taylor, 71, of Railroad St., Corry, Pa., died on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa. She was born on December 5, 1942, in Waterford, Pa., a daughter of the late Homer and Genevieve Patterson Kilbane. Dorothy was raised and educated in McKean Township, graduating in 1960 from the former McKean High School, now General McLane High School. She then attended Edinboro Teacher's College, graduating with a teaching degree in 1964. Dorothy had taught in Canoga Park, Calif. for a year and then was married in Arlington, Va. She lived in several cities while her husband served with the U.S. Marine Corps. They moved to Corry in 1980 and Dorothy went to St. Vincent School of Nursing where she received her RN Degree. She then started as an RN at Corry Memorial Hospital where she worked for several years before retiring in 2002. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corry. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Alberta Wilkosz. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Richard C. "Chuck" Taylor, whom she married on December 24, 1965 in Arlington, Va.; a daughter, Jeanne Taylor and her companion David Carrillo of Denver, Colo.; a son, John Taylor and his wife Suzanna Samuelson of Long Island, N. Y.; two sisters, Marjorie Gilkinson of North East, Pa., and Norma Loop of Lowville, Pa.; a brother, Francis Kilbane and his wife Jeanne of Edinboro, Pa.; and a grandson, Ezra Taylor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., Thursday (today) at 11 am. Rev. John Rough will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
