Edwin L. Henry, Sr., 86, of Waterford, Pa. died Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Golden Living Center â€" Western Reserve. He was born on February 4, 1927 in Saegertown, Pa., son of the late Edwin Leo and Mary (Sherman) Henry. He received a Purple Heart during his service in the U. S. Army during W.W. II, Ed was employed as an engineer for the Norfolk & Western Railroad, where he retired and was a member of the Tryianâ€"Commonwealth Lodge #362, F. & A. M.; Zem Zem Shrine, Legion of Honor; Scottish Rite, Valley of Erie; the Girard American Legion and the West Springfield V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice M. (Allburn) Henry in 1989. A daughter, Mary Louise Henry. A brother, John Robert Henry. A grandson Dennis Straw. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Straw and Karen Ewiank of both of Erie. Two sons, Lee Henry and his fiancé, Diane Henton of Erie and John P. Henry and his wife, Susan of Waterford. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
