Eleanor F. King, age 85 of Erie, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, at St. Mary's Home of Erie. She was born April 21, 1928,in Erie, a daughter of the late Daniel and Valentine Barber Mahoney. Eleanor was employed in food service at Hamot UPMC formerly known as Hamot Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 1994. She was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 771 and a member of the Pulaski Club, 3rd Street Polish Falcon, Moose Club and Hamot Retirees Club. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Edmund, Daniel and Robert Mahoney. Survivors include four sons, Raymond F. King (Debbie) of Erie, Joseph P. King (Judy) of Radcliff, Kentucky, David A. King (Barb) of Erie and Paul T. King (Teri) of Elizabethtown, Pa.; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street, Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and may attend services Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Peter Cathedral at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
