George A. Richardson Sr., 86, of Union City, Pa., passed away at Golden Living Center, Erie, Pa., on Sunday, January 26, 2014.

George was born July 21, 1927 in Portage, Pa., the son of the late Carl and Mable (Morgan) Richardson.

George was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air Force, in the European Theatre, after World Ward II. He had worked in Pittsburgh, Pa., as a plumber, and retired from there in 1972, and moved to Canadohta Lake, and then worked at Tele Dyne Penn Union, in Edinboro, and retired from there in 1977. George was a former Bloomfield Township Supervisor. He loved bowling, hunting, fishing, four wheeling around his farm, riding his scooter with Andy, telling stories to Nate, always hanging out with Brandon, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by daughters, Wanda Watkins and her husband Bud and Beth Ann Oaks, all of Erie, Pa., and Cindy Struble and her husband Dave of Union City, Pa., sons George Richardson and his wife Mandy of Union City, Pa., William Richardson and his wife Linda and Ernest Dubrewski, all of Centerville, Pa., Bruce Richardson and his wife Kass of Portage, Pa. and Allen Richardson of Pittsburgh, Pa., a brother Donald Richardson and his wife Jean of Columbia, Ohio, and grandchildren, Brandon, Nate, Andy, Dalton, Drake, Karri, Dave, Paul, Missy, Michael, John, Nathan, Leighan, Aaron, Ryan, Jolyne, and Braden, and great-grandchildren, Ganyn, Corbin and Ella.

Friends will be received at the Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, Pa., on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and may attend funeral services there on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

Rev. Harlan Nefstead will officiate, with interment in Rootville Cemetery, Rootville, Pa. Full military honors will follow funeral services at the funeral home.
