James Thomas Watral, 70, of Union City, Pa., passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. James was born February 11, 1943 in Erie, Pa., the son of the late Michael and Anna Watral. He was a graduate of East High School, Erie, Pa., and was a construction worker who was employed by Holiday Inn and later being self-employed. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, playing pool and being able to build things. He was a devoted "STEELER" fan. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, 882, and the American Legion, LeBaron Post 237, of Union City, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Michael Watral, a sister, Evelyn Watral, a grandson, Joshua Shaffer, a son-in-law, Jason Gibbs, and sister-in-laws, Nancy Esser and Dorothy Young.
Survivors include his wife, Delores (Petrilla) Watral, of Union City, Pa., children Kelly Watral, Tonya Watral, and Thomas Watral, six stepchildren, Frank Petrilla, Tina Zazado, Tammy Steenrod, Sharon Gibbs, and Sandy Petrilla all of Union City, Pa., and John Petrilla of Georgia, a sister Rose Lyons and her husband Don, a brother, Walt Watral and several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends may attend a memorial service to be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Union City Full Gospel Church, 7605 Route 97, Union City, Pa at 6:00 p.m. Rev. John Ohrn will officiate. The Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, Pa. is handling arrangements.
