Janet M. Lapenz, age 60, of Erie, passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 17, 2013. She was born in Erie on February 25, 1952, the loving daughter of Robert and Rose Kazimierowski Lapenz. Janet was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. She was very active in the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Center Program, where she worked in the workshop, and participated in Special Olympics in bowling, swimming and track. She was an avid sports fan. Janet was recently involved with the Gertrude Barber Retirement Center program. In addition to her parents, Janet is survived by two sisters, Jeannine Silverthorn (Gary) of Erie, and Peggy Brigati (Steve) of Wellington, Fla.; nieces and nephews, John, James & Molly Holmes, Melissa Farris, Jon-Marc and Aric LiVorio; aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m., and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Monday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Mt.
