Joseph A. Fallon, Jr., age 66, of Erie, passed away peacefully, on the evening on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at UPMC-Hamot, following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 14, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Joseph A., Sr. and Mary Jean Scholz Fallon.

Joe was a 1965 graduate of the former Academy High School. He had also earned an Associate Degree from the Penn State Behrend College. Joe was a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He volunteered for 15 years with the Upper Room Homeless Shelter in Erie. He enjoyed dancing, and was known for his wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jack Fallon, and one brother, Gary Fallon, and one sister, Shirley McClain.

Survivors include his two sons: Kevin M. Fallon (Taiya) and Brett T. Fallon, all of Erie; two sisters: Nancy Everhart and Maureen Holsinger (Dave); five brothers: Charles, James (Vicky), Louis (Bonnie), Robert, and Vincent Fallon; two grandchildren: Shaffer and Isley Fallon; and dear friend and former spouse, Doreen Fallon of Erie. Joseph is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., and are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., at Mount Calvary Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
