Joseph Nicholas Felice, age 85, of Erie, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Erie Veterans Administration Medical Center. Born in Erie on June 27, 1927, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Celia Marinelli Felice. Joe graduated from Strong Vincent High School, in Erie. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he worked for General Electric as a design draftsman, where he met his wife, Helen, whom he married on May 14, 1949. They lived in the house he built for her. As a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, Joe was very active, serving as an usher and Eucharistic Minister, singing in the Resurrection Choir, as a Cub and Boy Scoutmaster, and a member of the Men's Council. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and YMCA. Joe enjoyed working as a cement worker, stone mason, woodcrafter and winemaker. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas Joseph Felice, and two nephews, Mark and Salvatore Felice, of Van Nuys, Calif. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen (Stachyra) Felice; by his beloved sons, Mark Felice, of Lexington, Kentucky and Joseph Felice, wife Karen, of Erie; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He is also survived by two sisters, Anna Mae Ulbrich, husband Richard, of Spring Lake, New Jersey and Annette Schaal of Erie; three sisters-in-law, Renee Felice, Ada and Florence Stachera, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend special thanks to the V.A. Medical Center 4th floor staff, which took such special care of him, and his family. Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and to attend prayers there Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
