Joseph William Luke Obituary

Joseph William Luke, age 64 of North East died on Monday December 2, 2013 at home.

He was born on April 30, 1949 in Erie, Pa. to the late Carlton W. and Jeanne M. Halloran Luke and graduated from North East High School in 1967.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Marine Corps where he recieved the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

Joe along with his wife Patti owned and operated Plummber's Tavern in Ripley, N.Y. for the past 13 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, "creek snaging", sunsets, cooking, and playing with his grandchildren.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Patti Thomas Luke, whom he married June 26, 1993; daughter, Carrrie Luke Strickland (Don) of Naples, Fla.; sons, Kevin Ewert (Haley) of Fair Oaks, Calif., Cody Ewert (Jessica) of Carlise, Pa.; mother-in-law, Norma Jones of Calif.; brothers, Fred Luke (Linda) of North East, Douglas Luke (Linda) of North East; sisters, Debra Skalos (Brian) of North East, Sara Frye (Vernon) of North East; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Liam, Olivia and Charlie Ewert; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; dogs, K.D., Buddy and Pearl; also many dear friends.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake Street, North East on Thursday 2-4 and 6 until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating Rev. David Kuchta. Private interment North East Cemetery.
