Karen Rosalie Sharer, age 61, residing in Orlando, Florida, passed into eternal life on Saturday, June 1, 2013. A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, she was a school teacher
at Mt. Calvary Parochial School and later taught in the Orange County (Orlando) School District. Besides cherishing her family, she enjoyed cross stitching, reading, and collecting tea pots. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Wisniewski, of Stuart, Florida, sons Jay Sharer of Pittsburgh, and Aric Sharer of Columbus, Ohio, daughter-in-law Kristen Sharer and grandson Ian, brother Gary Schmidt of Orefield, Pennsylvania, sister-in-laws Janet Schmidt and Kimberly DeHainaut, three nieces and two nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Edward Schmidt. A memorial service was held at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Winter Park, Florida, on June 7, 2013, and a graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Roy Washill of St. John's Lutheran Church in Erie, at Winter Green Gorge Cemetery in Harborcreek, Pa. on July 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church (for Children's Ministries), 3377 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32792.
