Kenneth Bud Massing Obituary

Kenneth "Bud" Massing, age 45, of Erie, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 28, 2014. He was born in Erie on June 19, 1969, son of Kenneth W. and Gertrude Jaskiewicz Massing.

Bud attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, and was a 1987 graduate of Tech Memorial High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was previously employed at Riley Stoker and Erie Times-News, and was currently employed as a painter. Bud was a loving son, brother, uncle, papa, and friend. All who knew him will miss his signature laugh and his carefree nature. He was kind and generous and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Bud was an avid sports fan, fisherman, chess player, and a founding, lifetime member of Pack 115 at Walczak Park. He will be sadly missed by his large and loving family of sisters.

In addition to his parents, Bud is survived by his two daughters who loved him dearly, Katelin Gido (Matthew Kraus) and Shelby Kelly; seven sisters, Julie Murray (Dr. Thomas), Kathie Grochulski (James), Laurie Komarow (Basil), Marcie Jurkiewicz, Natalie Mansfield (Duke), Connie Averill and Amy Wheeler (Robert); two grandchildren, Caden and Riley, who were the joy of his life; dear friend, Theresa Sadlier, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving friend, Traci Gido.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C.
