Lewis A. "Andy" Penna, age 53, of Sumter, S.C., passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014. He was born on February 11, 1961 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the son of Lewis C. Penna and the late Laura M. (Mehler) Penna.

Andy was a graduate of Cathedral Prep High School where he played football and also graduated from Penn State University. He worked at Erie Insurance as a senior software engineer prior to moving to South Carolina. He enjoyed following Penn State and the Cleveland Browns football teams.

He is survived by his father, Lew Penna and his wife, Jane of Erie; two daughters, Michelle A. Petruso husband, Josh of Erie, and Kelsey M. Penna of Washington, D.C.; two step-daughters, Kelly and Tara; one sister, Amy Rigelman, husband, Michael of Erie; and a dear friend, Elizabeth Williams of Sumter, S.C. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 2401 West 38th Street. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace School - Athletic Department, 2401 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
