Lila Marie Brewer Connors Obituary

Lila Marie Brewer Connors, age 79, of Albion, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2014. She passed away at her residence in Millcreek Township, following a brief illness. She was born in Erie on June 10, 1934, daughter of the late Donald Brewer and Delila Butts of East Springfield, Pa.

She lived in the Albion and Springfield area her entire life. She was a longtime employee of Emco Wheaton in Conneaut, Ohio and Shurfine in Albion, Pa.

Lila was a longtime member of The Federated Church in East Springfield, Pa. She was also a member of the Albion Moose Club. She enjoyed gardening, watching basketball, traveling with her late husband, and spending time with her family that spans five generations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Shickle" Connors in 2005. Their union was blessed with many happy memories.

Survivors include two brothers, Gordon Brewer of Cranesville and Gerald Brewer of North Springfield, Pa., three daughters, Sandra Bowersox and Renae Hagmann and her husband, Doug of Erie, and Cheryl Sawdy of Milwaukee, Wis., a stepson, Rick Connors and his wife, Mary of Tucson, Ariz., and a stepdaughter, Becky Burch and her husband, Rick of Providence, R.I. Lila will forever be in the hearts of her ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Friends may call at the Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, Pa., on Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m., and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ed Huntley, of The Federated Church, will be officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family at a luncheon to be held at The Federated Church, 11995 Main St., East Springfield, Pa.

Memorial contributions are welcome to be made to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation or to the family.
