Marilyn A. Jacobs, 81, of Nettle Hill Rd., Sherman, New York, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at her home.

She was born March 1, 1933, in Sherman, New York, the daughter of the late Chester and Zillah Jackson Larson.

Marilyn was a graduate of Sherman Central School, in 1950. She retired from Welch Foods of Westfield, as a Customer Service Coordinator. She currently worked part time at Corry Auto Dealers Exchange. Marilyn was a dedicated member of the Sherman Community Church, where she served on the Board of Missions, as a trustee and deaconess. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Minerva Club, and a Life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid reader, enjoyed volunteering and loved spending time with friends and family at her "Lakehouse," on Chautauqua Lake.

Surviving are her son, Scott (Theresa) Richardson of Swarthmore, Pa. and daughter, Sherry Gulczynski of Sherman, N.Y., and one sister, Sharon Swift of North East, Pa. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Tonya (Ted) Roskie of North East, Pa., Krista Gulczynski of Bear Lake, N.Y., Ryan Gulczynski of Sherman, N.Y., and Taylor and Megan Richardson of Swarthmore, Pa.; two great-granddaughters, Ally and Britteny Roskie of North East, Pa.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew Jacobs, and one brother, Robert Larson. She had a heart of gold and helped many. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Sherman Community Church or the Stanley Hose Co., Sherman, N.Y.

Arrangements are being handled by the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, New York.
