Michael E. Nagosky, 39, of Moseley, Va., formerly of Erie, died Nov. 18, 2012, at Doctor's Retreat Hospital in Richmond, Va., after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on Dec. 5, 1972, a son of Richard E. and Ann C. Nagosky, of Erie. Michael was a graduate of St. James Elementary School and Harbor Creek High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice at Mercyhurst College and graduated from the Mercyhurst and Chesterfield County police academies. He was a career police officer with the Chesterfield County Police Department in Chesterfield, Va. Michael enjoyed playing with his two young sons, collecting firearms, and the camaraderie he shared with fellow members of the Chesterfield County Police Department. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife, LeighAnne Nagosky, and sons Matthew, 7, and Mark, 4, all of Moseley; his twin brother Paul Nagosky and his wife, Kim, of Easton, Pa.; his brother David Nagosky and his wife, Kelly, and their sons, Timothy, Tyler and Jeremy of Smithtown, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral was held Nov. 28 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond, Va., and Michael was buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fredericksburg, Va. A memorial Mass will be held Dec. 5, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 837 Bartlett Road. Memorials can be made to the A.N.N.A. Shelter, 1555 E. 10th St., Erie, PA 16511.
