Paul William Gray, age 94, of Erie passed away Tuesday May 21, 2013 at St. Mary's Home of Erie. He was born in Warren, Pa. on July 22, 1918 the first born son of the late Paul B. and Mary Alta McCabe Gray. He was the loving spouse of the late Mary Anna Consolo Gray who passed away in 1988. He is survived by three sons Paul J. Gray of Weslaco, Texas, Rev. Peter Wm. Gray, S.S., Ph.D. and Robert A. Gray Ph.D. of Philadelphia, Pa.; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a laborer at Hammermill Paper Company, a devout Roman Catholic of St. John the Baptist R. C. Church. He is also survived by two sisters Mary Jane and Elizabeth of Florida. He loved the poor, worked for their advocacy and worked as a missionary in India. He was an avid gardener and played the violin. Friends may call at the G. R. Bailey Funeral Home, 4396 Iroquois Avenue, Lawrence Park Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. where a prayer service will be conducted Saturday morning at 9:20 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist R. C. Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
