Pierre A. van Helden, age 33, of Fairview, passed away at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 15, 1980 in Versailles, France he was the son of Henri and Irene (Tse) van Helden.
Pierre was a proud graduate of Michigan State University
where he earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering Arts. Following graduation he worked as a production manager and engineer for Johnson Controls in Detroit and Kansas City. He was an avid fan of all Michigan State Spartans sports, the Detroit Tigers, and the Detroit Lions. Pierre also enjoyed superhero movies, fishing, golf, and cooking.
Besides his parents, survivors include his wife Bethany "Beth" (Weaver) van Helden; a daughter, Nina van Helden; a son, Henry van Helden; and two sisters, Sylvie van Helden of Baltimore, Md. and Julie Miller, husband Jeff, of Milwaukee, Wis.; his father and mother-in-law, Rick and Pam Weaver, of Fairview; a brother-in-law, Adam Weaver, wife Summer, of Fairview; and two nephews, Luke and Austin Weaver.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard and are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Wayside Presbyterian Church, 1208 Asbury Road on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Keith Sundberg officiating.
