Raymond L. Pashke, Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Erie on Friday, January 11, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born on December 28, 1924, in Lily, Pa., son of the late Raymond L. Sr. and Matilda Smith Pashke. During his long career he managed many large retail stores for the G.C. Murphy and W.T. Grand Companies. He later served as an accountant for several Erie organizations. Ray valiantly served in the U.S. Army Air Force in the Pacific theater during WWII. He was a member and officer of the Elk's Club in Norwich, N.Y. Ray attended St. Peter's Cathedral where he and his wife were parishioners. He enjoyed telling stories of his years growing up, his experiences during the war and also his many visits to Walt Disney World with his family. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Edna Kodosky Pashke; two daughters, Karen Cassano and her husband Vincent and Suzanne Miller and her husband James all of Erie; two son, Jerome Pashke of Harrisburg, Pa. and Gregory Pashke and this wife Jan of Port St. Lucie, Fla. Ray had 12 siblings, seven of whom are still living. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kim Callahan of Erie, Kristen Pashke of Atlanta, Ga. and Amy Cook and her husband Michael of Erie. Amy and Michael are expecting Ray's first great-grandchild in April 2013. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Cathedral. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery with a full military service conducted by the Erie Crawford County Veterans Burial Detail.
