Richard L. Frankiewicz, 79, went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2013. He was born on March 3, 1934, a son of the late Leo and Clara Doleski Frankiewicz.

He was a 1952 graduate of Cathedral Prep and served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Richard was an 18-year heart transplant survivor.

His passion and love of the game of golf was legendary and led to his life's work in the golf industry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel C. Frankiewicz.

He is survived by his daughter, Tama (Patrick) Barrett of Florida; his sons, Dean (Rosa) Frankiewicz of Missouri and Vance (Gayle) Frankiewicz of California; his sister, Jacqueline Vargo of Erie; and five grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Private funeral services were held in Florida. Memorial donations may be made to the John Kanzius Research Foundation, 130 West Eighth Street, Erie, PA 16501.
