Robert C. Baumann, age 73, of Erie, owner of Bob Baumann Refreshments, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was born in Erie, August 12, 1940, son of the late William and Edna Reynolds Baumann.
Bob was a graduate of McDowell High School. He was employed by Curtze & Crawford Steel for 20 years, and retired from the refreshment business in 2000.
Bob enjoyed every day as "Another Day in Paradise."
He was a life member and past president of the Erie Maennerchor Club, life member of the Times Old Newsies, and life member and past president of Saints and Sinners Dan Rice Tent. Bob also enjoyed his friends and club activities as a member of the following clubs: VFW
Post 470, Siebenbuerger Club, Elks Lodge
, Zukor Club, Pulaski Club, American Legion Post 1378, Cascade Club, Sunflower Club, Knights of St. George, Moniuszko Singing Society and the Knights of St. John. He enjoyed golf, especially the rare accomplishment of golfing in all 50 states, with his wife Linda. Bob was a longtime member and supporter of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife Linda Vicos Baumann, in 2013. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Jo Baumann of Charlotte, N.C., his son, Bill Baumann, and his wife Tammy of Erie, and his sister, Carol Exley, and her husband Dale of Spring, Texas.
Friends are invited to call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street, at Greengarden Blvd., Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the times of services at 11 a.m., with Very Rev. Mark A. O'Hern officiating .
