Ronald E. Thompson, 58, of Fairview, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Fairview Manor.
He was born in Bellevue, Pa. on November 6, 1955, a son of the late Hugh and Elizabeth Simpson Thompson. In 1962 he moved to a group home in Erie and later to the Gertrude Barber Center Home in Girard.
He attended church in Girard and enjoyed coloring, bowling, the Special Olympics
, music videos, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and the Three Stooges.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Mellor and a niece, Lauren Thompson.
Survivors include his sister, Shirley A. Dine and her husband, Robert; his brother, Hugh R. Thompson and his wife, Kyle, all of Erie; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard, and are invited to attend services there on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
