Beloved Father and Husband Ronald L. Waite, 69, a Union City resident died along with his dog Sam, Friday afternoon, November 16, 2012, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born in Lawrence Park, December 28, 1942, a son of the late Walter and Dorothy Empfield Waite. He was employed as a mechanic at C.A. Curtze Co. for 45 years before retiring in 2004. Ron attended Wattsburg High School before joining the National Guard. He was a member of Arbuckle C.M.A. Church and the Union City Moose Club. He was a "motorhead" and enjoyed racing and drag racing, golfing and hunting. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda Estes Waite, two daughters; Melanie Keller of Union City and Rena Mosier and her husband Jeff of Ripley, N.Y.: three brothers; Edward Waite and his wife Jean Ann of Erie, Gerald Waite and his wife Phyllis and Robert Waite and his wife Linda of Erie, and four sisters; Sarah Morgan and her husband Mike of Harborcreek, Ruth Mann of Bradenton, Fla., Thelma Walker of Erie and Janet Yohn of Lakeland, Fla. He is also survived by four grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Richard Waite and two sisters, Dorothy Lawrence and Grace Maldenado. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the C.S. Warthman Funeral Home, 69 N. Main Street, Union City, Pa. A funeral service will be held there Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
