Samuel "Sam" Faulhaber, age 80, of Waterford, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at his home.

Sam was born July 28, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was the son of the late Samuel and Dorothy Wooster Faulhaber.

Sam graduated from Waterford Academy, served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, and was a self-employed lumber man, owning his own sawmill. Along with a love of the woods, Sam entertained many interests and hobbies during his life. Farming, pulling tractors, and playing and listening to blue grass music were his favorites.

Along with his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Miller.

Sam is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Ann Faulhaber; four daughters, Tammy Conn (Ronald), Laurie Winger (David), Nancy Reinwald (Gerald), and Lida Faulhaber. He also had three sons, Samuel Faulhaber Jr. (Ruth), Dana Faulhaber, and Charles Faulhaber (Debbie). Sam also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his two sisters, Lorraine Fox and Elizabeth Potter, and his brother, David Faulhaber.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Merle E. Wood Funeral Home, Inc. Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street on Greengarden Blvd., on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
