Thomas H. Stafford, age 64, of Erie, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the VA Medical Center. He was born in Union City, April 20, 1950, son of the late Thomas and Mary (Tarbell) Stafford.

He served in the United States Marine Corp and received two purple hearts, while in Vietnam. He was employed at Zurn Industries Custom Engineering, McShane Welding, and Blackburn. He was a member of the Lower Eastside Federation and the Fulton Club.

Tom had a love of motorcycles, which he rode most of his life. He enjoyed baseball and loved the outdoors. He found it peaceful to be near the water fishing, walking, or just sitting. He enjoyed the peninsula year round.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jon and Carl and his sisters, Louise Stafford and Karen Schuschu.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Russo Stafford and son, Peter Nyceri (Anita); a daughter, Stacey Stafford; two sisters, Elaine Cray and Rosalie Chesebrough; brother, Roger; aunt, Clare Miller; granddaughter, Alecia; great-granddaughter, Adrianna, and three other grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
