Thomas L. Hoover, age 76, of Erie, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Elmira, N.Y. on December 15, 1936 a son of the late Clarence and Rose Weser Hoover.

Thomas retired from GE as a Tool Crib Attendant in 1996 after over 25 years. He was in the Army and a member of the Elks, Moose, American Legion, Polish Army Veterans Association American Post 17, United Commercial Travelers, NRA, Siebenbuerger, South Erie Turners, Zukor, Sunflower, Maennerchor and the VFW Post 470 where he was a life member of the Military Order of the Cootie.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Hoover and a brother, John Hoover.

He is survived by four daughters, Lois Hoover of Edinboro, Christina Hoover of Erie, Mary Jackson of New York and Barb Dombrowski and her husband Thomas of Erie; a son, John Hoover and seven grandchildren, Justin, Ian, Alicia, Aaron, Jared, Adam and Leyla.

Friends may call on Thursday at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St., Erie, PA 16502 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and are invited to a Military Burial Service on Friday morning at 10 a.m. at Erie County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home, 560 East 3rd St., Erie, PA 16507-1753.
