Travon Donte Green, age 20, of Erie, Pa., passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014, at UPMC Hamot. He was born June 28, 1994, in Erie, Pa., to Caroline McCallum "Boney" and Sean T. Green.
Travon was a 2012 graduate of East High School, where he was a talented player looking to make an impact, as a wide receiver with good hands and athleticism, as quoted in the Kick Off Magazine, the 2011 edition. He played basketball at Perry Hall High School in Maryland, where he played Junior Varsity and Varsity while in the ninth grade. While at St. James Middle School, his team won the State Championship during his seventh grade school year. He had aspirations of joining the US Army
Special Forces, and to obtain his degree in the field of Dentistry.
Travon was a fun and free loving person with a huge heart, anyone who had the chance to know him fell in love with him. He also loved spending time with his family and friends, making everyone laugh.
He was preceded in death by an aunt, Cynthia McCallum, three uncles, Christopher McCallum, William B. Cook, and Anthony D. Cook, who recently passed away.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his daughters, Jayla Raeanne and Jaylynn Marie; two sisters, Shaunya Green of Baltimore, Md. and Kiara Green of Erie; a great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Lee of Baltimore, Md.; grandparents, Barbara and Thómas Green of Baltimore, Md. and Ronnie McCallum and Billy Cook of Erie; a niece Aryanna; two nephews, JaSean and Jordan; a fiancée Aaliyah Williams; special friends, Jasmine (his daughters' mother), Scottie, Craig, DeMarcus, Jesse and Marcellis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., with a service to follow, with Augustina Frazier, eulogizing. Interment will be private, at the convenience of the family. Funeralization is by Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave.
