"Loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather"
William H. Semelka, Sr., age 78, of North East, died surrounded by his family on Monday July 8, 2013 at his home.
He was born on July 20, 1934 in Scranton, Pa. to the late William and Marie Marciano Semelka.
He was a self-employed grape farmer in North East for 47 years and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, & the Brotherhood of St. Joseph.
Willie loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and golfing.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Laskowski, grandson, Troy Eades, nephew, Fred Laskowski, Jr.; and in-laws, Smokey and Mary Concilla.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Roseann Concilla Semelka whom he married September 15, 1956 at St. Gregory Church; his children, Diana Eades (Ralph), Ann-Marie Brkic, & Bill Semelka, Jr. (Susan), all of North East; grandchildren, Darren Eades and fiancé Trista, Carly Eades, Chelsea Semelka, Will Semelka, & Elena Brkic; a brother, Frank Semelka (Joanne), a sister, Carmen Murphy, brother-in-law, Fred Laskowski (Lois), sister-in-law, Kathy Schultz (Wally); nieces & nephews, Teri (Rich), Frank, Jr., Carl, Michael (Melanie), Pam (Rick), and Steven (Kim); good friends, Charles, Tommy, Willie, Tony C., Tony D., Joe, Stanley, Rusty, Richard, Don, and his buddies at Andy's.
Family expresses its sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at UPMC Hamot & Community Nursing Services of North East, Hospice, especially Marty and Mary for all their expertise, support, and kindness.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home 65 South Lake Street on Wednesday 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating Fr. Thomas Brooks. Private interment St. Gregory Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory Parish School 140 West Main Street or North East Community Nursing Services, Hospice 7 Park Street North East, PA. 16428.
