Linda Goodwill, age 69 of Nashville Tenn. passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 after a sudden illness. Linda was born on June 25, 1944 in Corry, Pa. the daughter to Lester Highfill and Dorothea Kenniston Carpenter.
She was a longtime resident of both Titusville and Meadville. Linda retired from VFW
Post 2006, in Meadville in 2011 to move to Nashville and be with her true love. She had a passion for genealogy with particular interest in the history of her own family tree.
Linda is survived by her fiancé, Samuel Tomberlin of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Danny Highfill and his wife, Wanda and Kevin Carpenter and his wife, Cheryl all of Erie; a sister, Cheryl Graham of Warren; four children; Larry Brown and his wife, Cheryl of Blacklick, Ohio, Barb Benedict and her husband, Mark of Pleasantville, Pa., Christopher Brown and his fiancee, Kimberly Shaffer of Orange Park, Fla., and Nick Brown and partner, Eric Fieber of Rhoadesville, Va. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Daniel and a sister, Viola Schindler, and her husband, Samuel Goodwill.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin Street, Meadville, Pa., and attend a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg, Pa.
