LITTLESTOWN Bernard A. Breighner Sr., 84, died late Sunday August 18, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of Nancy J Duttera Breighner who died November 15 2000. Born March 16, 1929, in Abbottstown, he was the son of the late Lewis and Margaret Kuhn Breighner. Bernard was a 1948 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from SKF of Hanover as a machinist. He is survived by four sons, Bernard Breighner Jr., Michael Breighner and Christopher Breighner, all of Littlestown and Lawrence Breighner of Lucketts, Va.; a daughters Margaret Sauble and Elizabeth Miller, both of Hanover; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Paszek of Maryland. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Rita Breighner and many brothers and sisters. Bernard was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown and the McSherrystown Home Assoc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown with The Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant. There will be no viewing.
