HANOVER Howell D. Crawford, 92, most loving and devoted husband of Wilma Jeanne (Glass) Crawford, passed peacefully with his loving family by his side. Born July 27, 1921, in Hanover, to the late Blanche Luckenbaugh Rutters, he was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in McSherrystown and currently a member of St. Mark's in Hanover. He was also a veteran of World War II and served his country proudly. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter, Karen Crawford of Hanover. Other survivors include brother-in-law, Dale Glass (Sharon) and family; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Pechart (Richard) and family, Vicki Bailey and family, and Phyllis Fritz and family; and Hal Crawford and family, Sandra Wilburn and family, and John Crawford and family, all of Illinois. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much; and a very special friend, Dennis Moore, who was a constant companion and caregiver. He was predeceased by his son, Gene Crawford; sister, Rosella Null; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Pres) Glass and Leonard (Fred) Glass; mother-in-law, Ora Glass Lightner; and a very special sister-in-law, Sylvia Dillow. A viewing will be held at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc. 269 Frederick St., Hanover, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday December 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 129 Charles St., Hanover, with the Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating. Burial will immediately follow with military rites at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Memories and condolences may be shared at
