YORK Jean T. Smith, 79, died August 21, 2013, at her residence. She was the wife of Bernard F. Smith. They were married for 60 years. Jean was born on March 14, 1934, in Hanover, a daughter of the late Norbert and Arline (Billman) Neiderer. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the White Rose Polka Dancers, Alpenrose German Club, West York VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She enjoyed being with her family. The viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Church, 950 W. Market St. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Thomas R. Hoke as the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. In addition to her husband, Jean is also survived by five children, Rebecca Goodling, husband Frederick, of York, Yvonne Burkins, husband Donald, of Leader Heights, Cynthia Kuhn, husband Jeffrey, of Dover, Jill Lloyd, husband Jason, of Dallastown, and Jeffrey F. Smith and wife Sheila, of Olathe, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, John L. Neiderer, Donald J. Neiderer, and Richard J. Neiderer, all of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Israh J. Frank; and a brother, Fred L. Neiderer.
