ABBOTTSTOWN John Annone, 85, formerly of New Jersey, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the Gettysburg Center, Genesis Healthcare. He was the loving husband of Margaret (Boyle) Annone, his wife of 62 years. He was born January 31, 1928, in Harrison, N.J., the son of the late John and Palma (Orlando) Annone. Mr. Annone served in the United States Marine Corps and retired from the Western Electric Division of AT&T in South Kearny, N.J., after 32 years of service. An accomplished oil painter, he gave weekly art lessons at Saw Creek Estates in Bushkill, Pa., and was a professional musician playing the saxophone in the Bill O'Hara Orchestra and the Irish American Club, both in New Jersey. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Abbottstown. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John T. Annone and his wife, Donna of Sparta, N.J., Diane Albright and her husband, James of Aldie, Va., and Maureen Poling and her husband, John of Garnet Valley, Pa.; brother, Al Annone of New Jersey; and grandchildren, John D. Poling, III, Brian Poling, and Ashley Poling, all of Garnet Valley. He was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Anthony Annone, Mary Ingenito, Josephine Liento, Rose Blessing, Lucy Soucy, and Millie George. Family and friends will meet at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 9 a.m. to process to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 West Canal Road, Abbottstown, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Father Kenneth G. Smith, Celebrant. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. Burial with full military honors conducted by the Adams County Allied Veterans Honor Guard will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. Serving as pallbearers will be John Annone, James Albright, John D. Poling, Jr., John D. Poling, III, Brian Poling, and John D.
